“Call the Yankees my daddy.”

After Pedro Martinez tipped his cap and called the Yankees his Daddy last season, you knew Yankee fans weren't going to let that comment slide. These photos are from Game 2 of the ALCS on Oct. 13, 2004.

On this day 8 years ago Pedro Martinez gave up 5 runs for the only time in his 14 career post-season starts. Few people remember that after the Red Sox jumped out to a 4-0 lead in game 7 of the 2003 ALCS it was Jason Giambi hitting two solo homers off Pedro to keep the Yanks alive. The 8th inning proved to be the turning point as the Boston ace gave up 3 doubles and a single while retiring only 1 batter before Grady Little finally came to the mound.
